The colour is medium copper, the perlage very fine and persistent. On the nose expressive, with aromas of orange peels and brioche with apricot marmalade filling. In the mouth very tasty, with a medium long aftertaste.
This Champagne Brut Nature is made with 100% Pinot Noir grapes from premier crus vineyards by Brice Allouchery in Écueil.
Écueil is situated on the slope of “La Petite Montagne de Reims”, the northwestern part of the Montagne de Reims. It is part of a string of Champagne villages, most of which are classified premier cru. Roughly 3/4 are planted with Pinot Noir, 1/8 with Chardonnay and 1/8 with Pinot Meunier.
This champagne spent 18 months on the lees: from July 2022 to December 2023. I drunk it on my own for a special anniversary, celebrating my life, on September 30th, 2024.
For this bottle I paid 33.50 EUR at Les Caves du Forum in Reims.
