The colour is medium ruby with purple reflections. On the nose black pepper and other spices. In the mouth light but balanced and with a good structure. The aftertaste is pretty short. A simple but pleasant wine.
This 100% Groppello Gentile grapes based wine is made by Col Dovigo winery in Breganze, under the denomination Veneto Indicazione Geografica Tipica.
Groppello is a red wine grape variety grown mainly along the southwestern side of Lake Garda in northern Italy. Groppello’s main use is in the red wines of the Garda and Riviera del Garda Classico DOCs. Single variety Groppello wines are permitted under both of these DOC titles, but are extremely rare.
Veneto IGT covers all the Veneto region in northeast Italy. It is one of the country’s most widely used appellations and it encompasses a broad range of wine styles. Each year, a substantial volume of red, white and rosé wines are produced and sold under this denomination.
