The colour is deep ruby. On the nose blueberries, blackcurrant, cherries, chocolate mint. In the mouth balanced. The aftertaste is medium long.
I drunk this very special bottle to celebrate BTC $100’000 milestone.
Bitcoin La Cuvée® is a limited edition created by BTC Wine and available in three Bordeaux appellations: Margaux, Saint-Emilion and Pessac-Léognan. The bottles are numbered from 1 to 1500 and they can be purchased in Bitcoin (BTC) and other cryptocurrencies, in addition to fiat.
This exemplar is the number 1235 of the Pessac-Léognan limited edition. The wine has been made by Chateau Larrivet with 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc grapes.
For Bordeaux wine, 2019 was a very good vintage.
For BTC, 2019 market the first 10 years of existence since Satoshi Nakamoto mined the genesis block on January 3rd, 2009. It was a good year for BTC as well. BTC opened the year at $3’709.5 and it closed it at $7’196.4, up 94% for the year, although still considerably lower than the previous high of almost $20’000 it reached at the end of 2017.
I received this bottle from a dear friend from college. On btc-wine.com it sells for 48 CHF.
