The colour is medium ruby. On the nose black cherries, blackberries and green bell peppers. In the mouth drying tannins, with an astringent finish. The aftertaste is short.
This Cabernet Sauvignon based Canadian wine is made by No. 99 Wayne Gretzky Estate Winery.
Wayne Douglas Gretzky is a former Canadian professional ice hockey player. Nicknamed “the Great One”, Gretzky is the leading goal scorer, assist producer and point scorer in NHL history and has been called the greatest ice hockey player ever by many. When he retired in 1999, the NHL retired his jersey number 99 league-wide, making him the only hockey player to receive such an honour.
A winery and distillery, Wayne Gretzky Estates was founded in 2017 through a partnership between Andrew Peller Ltd. and Wayne Gretzky. Andrew Peller Ltd. also owns Peller Estates and Trius Winery, among others.
