The colour is pale gold. On the nose peach, cantaloupe, honey. In the mouth tasty and pleasantly refreshing, with an aftertaste that last for quite a while.
This wine is made predominantly with Albillo Criollo, a white grape variety. To impart freshness and acidity to the wine, Forastera Blanca and Verdello grapes are added to the mix.
The Hoyos de Bandama winery and the vineyards are located in the historical Caldera de Bandama wine area, just south of Las Palmas city in northeast Gran Canaria.
I tasted and drunk this bottle during this year’s holidays in Gran Canaria. It is the best Canary Islands white wine I tasted so far.
For this bottle I paid 17.79 EUR at Spar in Puerto Rico.
