A red wine made with Tannat and Cabernet Franc grapes cultivated in a AOC situated around the town of Madiran in Guascony (southeast of Bordeaux).
A rustic wine with a good natural acidity and rich in tannins, which in this modern version are already pleasantly soft, thanks to micro-oxygenation.
Micro-oxygenation is a process developed in the early nineties specifically to soften the aggressive astringency of this grape variety, strong in structure, color, acidity and (as implied by its name) tannins.
The blending with the Cabernet Franc, which is low in acidity and tannins, also helps to smooth the sensations.
The intense aroma revokes stewed red berries, with herbaceous accents added by the Cabernet Franc.
Drank it on the Dune de Pilat. The amazing scenery certainly contributed to the pleasure.
