The colour is medium ruby. On the nose at first raw meat, later some black tea and smoky notes. In the mouth light, without neither much savour, nor an aftertaste worth mentioning.
Dominariu is made by Azienda Agricola Melis with 100% Bovale (Sardo) grapes under the Terralba DOC.
Bovale is a name attributed to two Italian wine grape varieties that are known more commonly by their Spanish names: Bovale Grande (Carignan/Mazuelo) and Bovale Sardo (Graciano).
Terralba DOC wines have to be made with at least 80% Bovale grapes, which one is not specified.
I’ve been searching the Internet for a while to figure out what Bovale is used, but the information I found are rather confusing.
I drunk this bottle on the ferry from Golfo Aranci to Livorno. I bought it for 9.20 EUR at CRAI before leaving Sardinia.
