The colour is pale straw. On the nose papaya, grapefruit, and green tea. In the mouth a pronounced acidity and a citrusy aftertaste that last for a while.
Edizione Tre Autoctoni is made with Fiano, Grillo and Pecorino grapes from three regions of southern Italy: Abruzzo, Basilicata, and Sicilia.
I find it mainly a marketing product, as the red Edizione Cinque Autoctoni from the same producer: Farnese Vini, a leading wine export company in the South of Italy, with 12 wineries spread over 6 regions, and a production of over 24 million bottles.
The internationally unknown wine critic Luca Maroni awarded this wine 99 points, as he seems to do with all Edizione wines. To me it is hard to believe he doesn’t have some vested interests.
This wine sells at Denner for 19.95 CHF. It is often on offer at a discounted price. For this bottle I paid 15.50 CHF. For my taste still overpriced.
