Zelèn is a semi-aromatic white grape variety indigenous to the Vipava valley of Slovenian. In English, the name means “green” or “greener” and derives from the emerald green colour of the must.
This exemplar is made by Guerila, a biodynamic wine-growing farm founded by Zmagoslav Petrič in 2005 in the village of Planina, near Ajdovščina in the Vipava valley.
For this bottle I paid 11.40 EUR, 20% off the original price of 14.30 EUR at Kǒzelj Wines in Lubiana. I tasted it the same day.
