La Closerie 2018

The colour is deep purple. On the nose ripe blueberries, blackberries, plumbs, licorice, pepper. In the mouth not very balanced. Soft at the beginning and edgy at the end. The aftertaste is medium long, but unpleasantly dry and bitter.

This wine is made with Syrah and Grenache grapes by Château Lavabre under the Pic Saint-Loup AOP.

Pic Saint-Loup is a sub-appellation of the Languedoc appellation, in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of southern France. It covers exclusively red and rosé wines made predominantly from Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre.

Château Lavabre is owned by Gerard Bru, who also owns Château Puech-Haut, and from 1996 to 2006 hired Michel Rolland as consultant. In 2000 Michel Rolland was elected best winemaker in the world and undeniably contributed to the success of the winery.

This wine sells at Manor for 27.90 CHF.
