The colour is pale straw, with fine, but rather short-lasting bubbles. On the nose subtle aromas of mandarin, grapefruits and candied fruits. In the mouth pleasantly fruity and refreshing. The aftertaste is also discreet, but pleasant and medium lasting.
This sparkling wine is made in Ticino by Agriloro assembling Sémillon (more than 50% of the blend), Arinarnoa, Tannat, Egiodola and Carmenere grapes.
Sémillon is a white grape variety of Bordeaux. The gold-skinned grape plays a major role in France’s most famous and revered sweet wines: Sauternes.
Arinarnoa is a dark-berried wine grape variety, bred in 1956 in Bordeaux. It is a crossing of the Pyrenean grape variety Tannat with Cabernet Sauvignon.
Tannat is a red-wine grape whose origins lie in the Basque country, on the border between France and Spain. Nowadays, the most famous Tannat based wines are made in Madiran.
Egiodola is a dark-skinned grape variety used in the production of red and rosé wines in South West France. It is a rare variety and is most frequently used in blends. It is a crossing of Abouriou and Tinta Negra Mole. Abouriou is itself a black-skinned grape grown mainly in South West France. Tinta Negra Mole is a dark-skinned wine grape best known as the dominant grape of Madeira.
Carménère is a dark-skinned grape variety originally from the vineyards of Bordeaux. It has now found a particularly suitable home in Chile.
To make Marcperler the must of Sémillon is fermented and aged in barriques for six months, while the must of the red grapes, vinified in white, is fermented in steel vats. This classic method sparkling wine spends eighteen months on the lees. The remuage is performed by hand on pupitres. At disgorgement no liqueur de tirage is added.
