The colour is deep ruby. On the nose red fruits and vinous notes. In the mouth fresh, with a slightly astringent and bitter finish. The aftertaste doesn’t last long.
This Lambrusco is made with 100% Salamino grapes by Vitivinicola Fangareggi, under the designation Lambrusco Emilia IGT.
Salamino is among the six most commonly found Lambrusco varieties. The other five are Grasparossa, Maestri, Marani, Montericco and Sorbara. All of these Lambrusco grapes are indigenous to Emilia. Most Lambrusco wines are made from more than one Lambrusco variety and often additionally blended with a number of specific blending grapes (max. 15%), such as Ancellotta, Marzemino, Malbo Gentile, and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Vitivinicola Fangareggi is a fairly young winery. It was born in 2005. Its youthfulness is shown also in the name of the wines, the design of the label, and in the originality of part of the the production.
Puro! and V.gna Nera, made with 85% Lambrusco Salamino and 15% Ancellotta grapes, strictly follow the traditions of the region. V.gna Rosa obtained from 85% Lambrusco di Sorbara, 10% Fortana and 5% Pinot Nero grapes, is more contemporary. The white Biancospino, made with 85% Lambrusco di Sorbara vinified in white, 10% Sauvignon Blanc and 5% Chardonnay, is definitely revolutionary and innovative.
For this bottle I paid some 10 EUR in a gourmet shop in Cremona. On the winery website it sells for 8.50 EUR.
