Terre Brune 2017

The colour is deep ruby. On the nose pleasantly fruity, with aromas of blueberries, prunes, black cherries, blackberries. In the mouth medium body and fruity. The aftertaste is again fruity, but a bit short.

Terre Brune is produced by Cantina di Santadi under the Carignano del Sulcis DOC, which was introduced in Sardinia in June 1977. Continue reading “Terre Brune 2017”

1194 Perinet 2016

The colour is medium ruby with hints of purple. The nose is dominated by forest underground, accompanied by fruit under spirit, smoky notes and some liquorice. In the mouth smooth, with a drying finish that last much less than you would expect.

This wine is a blend of 62% Garnatxa, 31% Carinyena and 7% Syrah. It is priced at a hefty 120 EUR by Perinet Winery, which is located among the astonishing landscape of the Priorat DOQ. Continue reading “1194 Perinet 2016”

Rocca Rubia Riserva 2015

On the nose fruity and spicy, with pepper and black-/mulberries dominating the aroma. In the mouth a medium body, well balanced and with a fairly long fruity and pleasant, although prickly and drying, finish.

Ritme 2014

On the nose at first animal, meaty, dark chocolate and moca sensations dominates. After some exposure to air, the aroma becomes more fruity, with blueberries and dark cherries coming on stage.

In the mouth, this medium bodied wine is smooth and reminds of juicy blackberries. The drying finish is neither very long nor too short. Continue reading “Ritme 2014”

Acústic 2015

On the nose blueberries and mulberries, with the addition of a spicy accent. In the mouth smooth and well balanced, with a drying finish and an aftertaste that last long enough. It somehow reminds me of an Aglianico del Vulture I reviewed some time ago.

Acústic is a blend of 60% Samsó (Carignan) and 40% Garnacha (Grenache). Carignan if a grape variety most likely native to Aragon. Continue reading “Acústic 2015”

Gran Vin du Domaine L’Ostal Cazes 2012

On the nose black cherries, liquorice and black pepper, which gives a slightly prickly sensation. In the moth well balanced and consistent with the nose. Fairly long finish, but lighter than expected, with an earthy character.

Domaine du Cagueloup 2014

The brilliant color strongly recalls black cherries.

On the nose it displays an inviting aroma of red fruits, liquorice and pepper, with herby undertones.

Chateau Musar 2009

Olfactory the first impression is of tea with a hint of mint. After swirling, the smell turns earthy and meaty, with fruity aromas in the background. Some more air and the sensations change again and become more subtle.
