Agustí Torelló Mata Gran Reserva Brut Nature 2014

The colour is pale straw, with fine, long-lasting bubbles. On the nose baked apples, dried apricots and lactic notes. In the mouth refreshing, with a medium long aftertaste.

Ritme 2014

On the nose at first animal, meaty, dark chocolate and moca sensations dominates. After some exposure to air, the aroma becomes more fruity, with blueberries and dark cherries coming on stage.

In the mouth, this medium bodied wine is smooth and reminds of juicy blackberries. The drying finish is neither very long nor too short. Continue reading “Ritme 2014”

Acústic 2015

On the nose blueberries and mulberries, with the addition of a spicy accent. In the mouth smooth and well balanced, with a drying finish and an aftertaste that last long enough. It somehow reminds me of an Aglianico del Vulture I reviewed some time ago.

Acústic is a blend of 60% Samsó (Carignan) and 40% Garnacha (Grenache). Carignan if a grape variety most likely native to Aragon. Continue reading “Acústic 2015”

Cuvée Barcelona 1872

On the nose I can detect some pears and apple, but not much and not much more. In the mouth the wine quickly disappears. It lacks freshness and seems exhausted. I wonder if something is wrong with the specific bottle. On the other side, the couple of Cava I tried in the past didn’t impress me neither. L’Equilibrista 2013

Elegant and well balanced, as the name let you expect. On the nose red fruits, with some spicy notes. In the mouth discrete, with a pleasant acidity that follows you in the aftertaste. The high alcohol content (15%) gets completely undetected, both on the nose and in the mouth. One more sign of a well achieved equilibrium. Continue reading “L’Equilibrista 2013”
