Superiore Riserva Teroldego Rotaliano 2015

The colour is deep ruby. On the nose light notes of cherry, but with a background that doesn’t feel right. In the mouth more present, although a bit rustic, with good acidity and a drying finish that last for a while. Usually, wines tend to be richer on the nose than in the mouth. Interestingly, in this case it is the opposite.

This Teroldego Rotaliano DOC is produced by Cantina Rotaliana di Mezzolombardo. Continue reading “Superiore Riserva Teroldego Rotaliano 2015”

Kerner della Valle Isarco 2018

Kerner della Valle Isarco 2018: This white wine displays a medium straw colour. On the nose the aroma is dominated by pear, although apple and citrus can also by detected. In the mouth the wine is well balanced, with a refreshing aromaticity that last for a satisfying while. The kind of white that even my wife, who usually drinks only red and sparkling wines, can enjoy. Continue reading “Kerner della Valle Isarco 2018”

Côte des roses 2017

This wine displays a pale salmon colour. On the nose cantaloupe, watermelon and pears, among other fruits, can be detected. In the mouth refreshing, with a medium acidity and a pleasant taste that stays for a short while. Although it doesn’t give any revealing sensations, this wine is well balanced and definitely an enjoyable summer drink. Continue reading “Côte des roses 2017”

Canova NV

This Lambrusco presents itself with its typical deep purple colour and a delicate foam. On the nose the wine is vinous, with wild strawberries, fresh plums and pomegranate. In the mouth the palate is welcomed by a pleasant effervescence and left with a drying, slightly bitter sensation. A wine that pair well with the local charcuterie. Continue reading “Canova NV”

Aigle Noir Viognier 2016

When you open the bottle you are confronted with a synthetic cork, which I personally find absolutely anti-erotic.

The colour is pale gold, a first sign of the fact that this Pays d’Oc IGT wine is a less rich expression of the grape than the Viognier produced in the Condrieu AOC, which tend to display a deep golden colour. Continue reading “Aigle Noir Viognier 2016”

PerricOne 2015

Villa Sparina 2017

Delicate nose of melon, peach and pineapple mixed together; accompanied by light herbal aromas. In the mouth fruity and refreshing, but not overly so. The aftertaste last for a fairly long time and recalls the melon first perceived on the nose.

Villa Sparina is probably the most widely known wine produced under the (Cortese di) Gavi DOCG denomination of Piedmont. Continue reading “Villa Sparina 2017”

Judeka 2016

On the nose strawberry jelly with some herbs mixed in. In the mouth light from start to finish. The aftertaste is very discreet, with the strawberry coming back to say goodbye. Certainly not an intellectual wine, but in its simplicity is a fresh and clean wine that can be enjoyed during a light meal with friends. Continue reading “Judeka 2016”

Confine 2017

On the nose a pleasant aroma of candied fruits, accompanied by some spicy notes, which give a prickly sensation. In the mouth filling and fresh, with a flavourful finish that linger for a long aftertaste of honeyed nuts.

The nose is characterised by an inviting peach aroma. In the mouth rather light, without much neither of savour nor persistence.
