Aigle Noir Viognier 2016

When you open the bottle you are confronted with a synthetic cork, which I personally find absolutely anti-erotic.

PerricOne 2015

This wine displays a purple-ruby colour. On the nose it is vinous, with a predominance of cherries accompanied by some roses and herbs. In the mouth it shows a medium body, a good acidity and firm tannins. It finish with a pleasant mild bitterness and drying sensation.

Villa Sparina 2017

Delicate nose of melon, peach and pineapple mixed together; accompanied by light herbal aromas. In the mouth fruity and refreshing, but not overly so. The aftertaste last for a fairly long time and recalls the melon first perceived on the nose.

Judeka 2016

On the nose strawberry jelly with some herbs mixed in. In the mouth light from start to finish. The aftertaste is very discreet, with the strawberry coming back to say goodbye. Confine 2017

On the nose a pleasant aroma of candied fruits, accompanied by some spicy notes, which give a prickly sensation. In the mouth filling and fresh, with a flavourful finish that linger for a long aftertaste of honeyed nuts.

This white wine is made with Trebbiano di Lugana grapes around the southern edge of Lake Garda, where Lombardy and Veneto meet. Continue reading “Confine 2017”

St Michael-Eppan Müller Thurgau 2017

The nose is characterised by an inviting peach aroma. In the mouth rather light, without much neither of savour nor persistence.

Fattoria il Palagio Vernaccia di San Giminiano 2017

On the nose gentle floral aromas complemented by undertones of hazelnut and fresh herbs. In the mouth crispy and mildly astringent. The slightly bitter aftertaste is surprisingly long.

Weingut Heinrich Mayer jr. Zeller Burglay-Felsen Spätlese 1982

The wine presents itself with a brilliant gold color and a nose of honeyed apples, alongside some diesel smell typical of aged Riesling. In the mouth light and refreshing, with lemon like acidity that leaves the mouth salivating for a while. The finish is discreet, with a sweet dried pineapple aftertaste that linger for a long time. Marqués de Riscal Limousin 2016

On the nose a nutty and herbaceous character dominates. In the mouth a slightly oxidative note reminds me of a Fino Sherry. The aftertaste is rather short and marked by an acidic sensation.

Overall this wine is less refreshing than you would expect from a varietal Verdejo. This is probably due to the fact that Limousin is a sort of special edition. Continue reading “Marqués de Riscal Limousin 2016”
