Jean-Paul Thévenet Morgon “Vieilles Vignes” 2013

The colour is medium garnet and a bit cloudy. On the nose sour cherries and some earthy notes. In the mouth fresh and at first a bit prickly. The finish is abrupt, but later some fruity flavours come back and stay for a little.

Who would expect a Beaujolais, even a Cru, to still be fresh and highly enjoyable after 10 years?

This Morgon (one of the ten Cru of Beaujolais) is a very elegant, smooth and balanced wine, made with Gamay grapes. Still pretty fruity (raspberry) and fresh despite the age. Continue reading “Les Corcelettes 2007”
