This Champagne Extra-Brut is made with 50% Pinot Noir, 30% Pinot Meunier and 20% Chardonnay grapes from premier crus vineyards located in Les Mesneux, Sacy and Villedommange by Jean-Philippe Trousset. A little more than half of the blend comes from the 2021 harvest, supplemented by 45% of reserve wines. Vinification is done 90% in thermo-regulated stainless steel tanks and 10% in oak barrels. No malo for this wine. The wine is aged for 10 months on the lees and at least 15 months in the cellar.
Champagne Jean-Philippe Trousset is located in Les Mesneux, south-west of Reims, on northwestern part of the Montagne de Reims. It is a family run Champagne house, committed to eco-responsibility and to preserving biodiversity.
For this bottle I paid 32.90 EUR at Les Caves du Forum in Reims.
