The colour is pale straw. On the nose pineapple, mango, banana and golden apple. In the mouth very fresh. The aftertaste is medium long.
This white wine is made with Malvasía Volcánica grapes by Vega de Yuco in Lanzarote, the easternmost DO within the Spanish Canary Islands.
The Canary Islands sit at a latitude of roughly 28°N, making them Europe’s southernmost most wine region. Because of the tropical hot and humid conditions that prevail at this latitude, the Canary Islands are far from ideal for growing wine-grapes. However, the islands have individual climatic and topographical features that make wine production possible.
The white wine made in Lanzarote with Malvasía Volcánica grapes is the most famous white wine of the Canary Islands.
I bought this bottle for 15.95 EUR at a supermarket in Gran Canaria, while on vacation.
